The creation of Anchored Psychological Services, LLC

For as long as we have known each other, we have always had the idea of opening our own group private practice. So much so, we both worked at a group private practice together to improve our clinical skills and learn everything we could about running a business. We set out a goal to open our own group private practice in the future and quickly figured out that we didn’t have to wait as long as we thought. Dr. Pluciniak and I made the decision to open our own group private practice in May 2021. As colleagues and friends with the same goal and vision, it only made sense to go into business together and create the multidisciplinary group practice we dreamed of.

Among the many things we had to do in order to establish our business, the first thing was to come up with a name. This may seem easy...but from personal experience this was the hardest part for us. We spent hours putting psychological words together, hoping that a catchy phrase would come up. When that didn't work, we made a list of words on what psychotherapy means to us. We compared lists and the two words we had in common were strength and stability. We went back to the drawing board to come up with a symbol that represented strength and stability and decided on an Anchor...and just like that Anchored Psychological Services, LLC was founded. Soon after, we contacted a graphic designer and got our official logo. This was easy for us; we knew we wanted an anchor and the psychology symbol integrated as one. Thus, creating the symbol you see below. We'll skip the boring details about all the business and financial aspects of opening a group private practice.

Opening a group private practice can be a very challenging and overwhelming process. However, having a business partner can make things fun, creative, and energizing. Together, we brought our education, training, and supervision to create our own safe and professional practice. With our own unique backgrounds, we can work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Our evidenced-based theoretical approaches allows us to help those struggling with anxiety, depression, school adjustment issues, addiction, relationship issues, and every life transition in between. We believe in treating each of our clients as the most important person in our practice. We want to provide you with strength and stability to hold on no matter how rough things get.
